Chairman
I joined Tameside Divers, as I found it was a very friendly club. I was already a qualified diver and I wanted to teach youngsters how to dive.

I joined the snorkelling Club of Tameside Divers in 2016 and I progressed to Advanced Snorkel Diver. I like snorkelling and scuba diving as it gives me the opportunity to explore our beautiful coastline and observe the marine wildlife. Being trained the BSAC way enables me to carry out snorkelling in a safe manner knowing the associated risks.
Welfare Officer
I joined Tameside Divers as a parent in 2012 whilst my son did his snorkelling qualifications. I became welfare officer a couple of years later. I like snorkelling as I like the fact that my son, Toby, and partner, John, enjoy snorkelling and diving and I enjoy hearing about the things they have seen whilst diving.
I did try snorkelling in Hawaii in 2000 and managed to see some giant sea turtles.

I joined Tameside Divers as I was coming to the club every week to bring my daughter Rebecca. The club was short of volunteers and I was asked if I could help. The first time I snorkelled was in Egypt. Being able to see the marine life was amazing. If you haven't tried it already just give it a go.
